Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University-Kakinada (JNTUK) and Infotech Enterprises have joined hands to introduce a new post-graduate course M.Tech in Avionics from the 2011-12 academic year. The university would be providing physical infrastructure such as classrooms, students. The IT firm would provide guest faculty with periodic lectures by senior staff and summer internships.
Eligibility Criteria: B.E/B.Tech in Computer Science and Electrical & Electronics.
No of seats: 25 students and the number could be increased depending on the demand.
Admission Procedure:
An entrance test through the PGCET conducted by the university. Those with GATE scores are eligible for scholarships.
Curriculum:
The curriculum of this industry-supported PG programme was being developed to suit the industry needs, especially the needs of avionics industry, which was expected to grow 20 per cent annually.
Placement assurance:
Infotech was ready to absorb the students completing the course and they were also free to join any company of their choice. Infotech has 500 avionics engineers and is likely to need 2,500 more in the coming years.
