Wall Street analysts are jumping on board the rumour mill, tipping that Apple will release a high-definition television set in March next year.
According to AppleInsider, Trip Chowdhry of Global Equities Research issued a note to investors claiming that after attending a number of developer events he was convinced that an Apple HDTV is indeed on its way.
He also claimed that the product would most likely be very similar to Bose’s new VideoWave product, a 46in LCD HDTV that’s 6in thick and sports 16 speakers for surround sound. The Bose product has reduced cable clutter down to just three cords, but the Apple product is expected only to use one.
Unlike the VideoWave, which only comes in the 46in variation, Chowdhry believes the Apple tellies will be available in three sizes at three different price points.
We’ve been gossiping about the likelihood of an Apple TV here at Macworld for a while now, with industry insiders tipping that it’s definitely in the pipeline. While it’s still thoroughly in Rumour Country, here’s hoping these latest claims turn out to be true.
